How Many Time A Week Should I Use An Infrared Sauna
It’s interesting. When we often get something new, whatever it may be, we always seem to want to use it as much as we can. It seems to be one of those natural human habits, we all do it. And best of all it’s fun.
To use the same process with an infrared sauna might not be the best option. As you’ll see in a second. Hence It’s important to know how many times a week we should be using an infrared sauna for best results.
To get the best out of yourself and the sauna you want to maximise your results, but at the same time, you don’t want to overdo things.
How often can I use my infrared sauna?
The average time recommendation for using an infrared sauna is anywhere between 30-40 minutes for each session on average. The recommendations for how many times a week you should use your infrared sauna is around 3-4 times a week.
The above info is the average. This does not take into consideration whether you’ve used an infrared sauna or not, So if you are new to infrared sauna therapy, I’d highly recommend for you to start with small or short session times then work your way up.
So for a new user, every 2-3 days would be a good idea and something like 10-15 minutes until you get the feel of the infrared heat. Then go from there.
What you can also do is adjust the temperature of the heat so something a little lower, again until you get the feel of it. Just something to consider, the last thing you would want is to get caught out from the heat.
We Are Not All Equal.
I mention this to consider we all come in different sizes. Whether we are large or small, short or tall, we all have different tolerances to heat, so remember this will vary. What might work for you might not work for someone else.
Once you get started you will know your tolerance levels, then work your way up from there. Each week increase the length of your sauna sessions and the temperatures a little until you’re at the suggested times and temps for maximum results.
Can I Sauna every day?
At the end of the day, you can do what you want with your infrared sauna, I’m not here to stop you. As I mentioned above, It’s like anything new, you want to use it as many times as you can. But can you use an infrared sauna every day, or is it too much?
What I’ve said above still stays true. The average time and usage are around 3-4 times a week and around 30-40 minutes per session. But to answer your question. Yes, you can.
You can use your infrared sauna every day if you like, It really comes down to the time you have. Do you have the time to use your sauna every day? Most don’t but maybe you do have the time? But please be aware of the possible dangers of using an infrared sauna every day.
You Must Maintain Your Fluids
The biggest danger of using an infrared sauna on a daily basis or anytime for that matter is the dehydration issue. And this is what can catch a lot of people out without realizing it.
Hydration is the key to maintaining your health while using the sauna. If not you can become very weak as well as suffer from headaches. And we don’t want that. Please keep this in mind.
Points to remember.
If at any point you start to feel light-headed or unwell please remove yourself from the sauna. And of course, if this persists please see a doctor.
As I’ve said, take your time by introducing yourself to this new and exciting therapy and enjoy the process along the way.
Conclusion.
When starting off. Start by using the sauna with a smaller time session. Start with 5-minute sessions if you have to. Then add more time when you feel comfortable.
Start with the heat lower than normal, again until you’re comfortable with the heat, gradually increase it.
Start by using your infrared sauna every 2-3 days until you get used to it. Then once you have been using it for a few months you can start by using your infrared sauna every day if you wish, and have the time to do so.
Remember to stay hydrated.
And at any time you start feeling sick or weak while using your sauna, please STOP. Please don’t overdo it.
Stick to the recommendation above and you’ll be fine.
